You can find plenty of history here in Herndon, Virginia, which was named after William Lewis Herndon, a commander and U.S. naval explorer. He is also known for authoring Exploration of the Valley of the Amazon. He is well-known for his travels along the sea using the steamer SS Central America. Unfortunately, the ship ended up sinking with him and 150 of its passengers in it. He decided to stay behind to help save the passengers on board. In 1858, the city was named after him. A decade or so later in the 1870s, Northern soldiers and their families migrated here to settle. The temperature here was mild and the land prices were low, so it attracted many people here. Local Native Americans are also to thank for helping the town to prosper, which was done using trade and instruction.

Renovation in a Farmhouse in Herndon

There are plenty of beautiful farm homes situated throughout Herndon, VA. One homeowner contacted Fairfax Kitchen and Bath to have their homes remodeled with brand new fixtures in their bathroom and kitchen. The property had a large traditional kitchen and old-school bathrooms that needed updating. Our professionals came to their property to assess what needed to be done and to provide advice and estimations. The couple agreed with our pricing and suggestions, then we got to work on fabricating the materials for the job.

These Customers Were Farmer Happy

There’s nothing more refreshing than a beautiful country style kitchen that overlooks vast green farmland. This is the exact feel this older couple had after we completed their kitchen remodel. The bathrooms were also redone to their liking. They really enjoyed the outcome of the project, as well as their seasonal guests. The property value also went up with these basic upgrades alone.

From Concept to Completion

The workers at Fairfax Kitchen and Bath were hired to install granite counters and backsplashes, replace the bathroom vanities and sinks, implement knobs and pulls, install new cabinets and hardwood floors. We were supplying them with a complete overhaul for their cooking and bathing spaces. They also decided to update the bathtub with a claw foot model.

The granite stone they selected for the kitchen counters and backsplash was a light blue and cream color. This was fabricated at our showroom, where we showcase all our stone slabs. The couple came by to select the one they wanted for their property. The cabinets, hardwood, vanities, sinks and faucets were also supplied by our professionals.

The kitchen was the first to be completed. We ripped out the old counters and cabinets, replacing them with contemporary, modern feeling alternatives. The colors matched perfectly with the pale colors of the kitchen palette.

Once the kitchen was done, we moved on to the bathrooms, which the couple wanted to have made over with hardwood floors, beautiful new vanities, sinks and faucets. The turnout was excellent, especially with the gorgeous white quartz slabs they chose for the bathroom counters.
Overall, this took our professionals three days to complete. We worked quickly and ensured all the materials and fixtures were installed perfectly.
